I've been collecting my family stats for over 25 years. I purchased a copy of Passage Express before it was even available on the Legacy Geneology software, version 2.0. I created a disc that was maxed to capacity of family information, pictures, videos, narrated slide show, music and distributed it to family members for their enjoyment and to be able to easily view their families history without having to use a genealogy program itself. This software was unique and exactly what a geneologist would want to use to put together their family story for posterity and pass it on to others that just wanted a plug and play disc to view the information. But alas the makers of the program, The Jefferson Project gave up on it and the newer operating systems saw fit not to be backward compatible enough to run such programs. Talk about planned obsolenscence. It is an absolute shame that Passage Express has not been continued, it was unique, easy to use and provided a way to share your family data with anyone that had a computer with a disc drive. My suggestion to anyone who created discs using Passage Express is to keep a functioning laptop with Windows 7 installed on it along with your Passage Express Discs to pass along to a newer generation that might want to continue the effort to record family history. To this day there is nothing, and I mean nothing that compares to creating a storyline of family heritage like Passage Express di. I don't know if the Jefferson Project even exists anymore, but it would be great if they do and if they don't have any intentions of bringing Passage Express back to life, that they release the souce code to open source so that the genealogy world would have something as useful as Passage Express to exhibit their years of hard work. There are a number of popular programs out there that went open source because they were no longer supported by their creater that are supported by volunteer groups to keep the program alive for others to use. UPDATE: Terrific way to organize and present genealogy information. Unfortunately, the wonderful picture viewer no longer works with Windows 11 (maybe in compatibility mode?).

This is basically a publishing program that provides a super way to present Genealogy information (stories, photos, movies, etc). Output can be sent to CD, DVD or Flash Drive that can be distributed to relatives. Program is no longer supported by the developer, but my version is running on 64 bit Windows 10.
